Silly Sounds
These captivating picture cards are designed to increase engagement, draw attention to the speaker's mouth, and promote early speech development. Sets A, B, C and D each contain 24 different silly sound effects that target oral-facial movements and simple syllable shapes. Included with each deck is a list of multi-sensory cues and strategies that can be used to prompt the child when engaging with the Silly Sounds cards.
Cari designed the Silly Sounds cards to be used with preverbal and minimally verbal young children with suspected childhood apraxia of speech. They can, however, be used with all children who are learning to talk, regardless of the diagnosis. Even children who are not experiencing any speech and language delays will enjoy interacting with these visual cue cards!
Animal Vowels
This set contains 50 visual cue cards that are designed to support speech production and early literacy skills. These beautifully illustrated cards focus on the accurate production of vowel sounds in short phrases and also emphasize the phonological awareness skill of rhyming.
Accurately produced vowel sounds are critical to intelligible speech. Children with apraxia of speech often have vowel errors, making their speech difficult to understand. ANIMAL VOWELS can be used in speech therapy, in the classroom, and at home to help children improve their speech motor planning skills.
Talking Letters
Help young children learn the relationship between written letters and spoken sounds by merging phonics and phonemic awareness. While the traditional alphabet contains 26 letters, TALKING LETTERS contains 37 illustrated letters that support development of speech production and early literacy skills.
Animal Verbs
Cari's newest therapy product contains 40 beautifully illustrated visual cue cards designed to facilitate the acquisition of action words in young language learners. According to research (Gleitman et al., 2005), verbs may be more difficult to acquire than nouns. Action words are necessary for expanding utterance length...and these cards can help!
