Why do some children thrive in kindergarten and others don't?
Some children possess the foundation skills that are necessary for success in a classroom environment. We call these "learning to learn behaviors."
How can this assessment help you figure out who has these behaviors?
This assessment provides the methodology that helps you skillfully assess the child in context to find out where the skills are present and where there are areas that need improvement. The Assessment is divided into 7 sections that measure each one of the critical learning to learn behaviors.
How is this assessment different from other standardized test?
The biggest difference is that this assessment measures the foundation skills in the natural environment and not in a therapy room environment out of context. This means that you will know that these skills are generalized and not just skills that are acquired during therapy.

Our pediatric speech and OT clinic LOVES LtL. Bs! It helps identify skills within those really challenging kiddos! It helps create goals in small increments, which is motivating for parents in 2 ways... it helps them see the goals that are attainable and is encouraging for parents to see what their child actually does well! The assessment breaks down a child’s skills so that we recognize his abilities that are not “seen” on other formalized tests. And for a clinician, it does help highlight those behaviors that are like and are not like autism.
